Here’s to a more globalized (or even “interesting” or “exciting”) Toyota lineup in the US and Canada in the coming years! That’s why I’m excited and what I’m hoping for. The new Toyota CEO sounds promising...

Aside from lost jobs this is fantastic news. Good riddance to a brand that’s meant less with each passing year

Been waiting since they killed off the Matrix for them to bring this over. Hopefully this means there’s a bigger chance. Auris Touring Sport. Pretty much a stretched Scion iM in our world.

Cause companies need to stop making “youth oriented” cars when youths can hardly ever afford a new car. If they can, they will definitely go something more focused on Honda or something. I don’t know, I’m still driving my first car after 4 years so I don’t know what the youths buy nowadays. Used cars I suppose?

Just rebadge the line with Toyota badges - like it’ll hurt. Just stop this silly youth branding. The car gets them in the showroom, not the badge.

Or rather, how the entire Toyota brand should be killed off. Nothing, apart from the FR-S or most of their interesting hatchbacks/wagons are even viable now.

Pretty much, all they have left is to stop being the world largest maker of cars. Yup, circling the drain...

This is actually good news to me, provided they keep the vehicle lineup. I've been trying to convince my wife that the iA should be her next car, but she won't even consider it because it's a Scion and she hates their marketing. Maybe with the elimination of Scion (and Pure Pricing) she will see the light that the Mazda2 is one of the best small cars on the market.

Alright, Toyota. Time to merge some, if not all of these back into your lineup.

The Yaris could use a sedan (iA to Yaris Sedan) again to compete against Chevrolet, Nissan, and Ford.

We could get some nostalgia with an 86 (FR-S) and the rebirth of the Celica (tC).

And the Corolla could use a new bodystyle (iM), since it hasn’t exactly had anything but a sedan for well over a decade (unless you count the Matrix, which WAS marked on it’s window sticker as Corolla Matrix).

But don’t stop there. There’s so much they could bring over from Europe and Japan!

The Auris also is available in a wagon form and with a diesel option. Bringing both over, with great mileage and NOT cheating on emissions could be the perfect insult to one of it’s biggest rivals, Volkswagen.

Redesign the HiAce, build it alongside the Tacoma and Tundra here in the US, and make it into a Japanese Transit fighter, or something to go against M-B’s new Metris.

The Mark X could be the perfect bridge between Toyota and Lexus (a better one than the Avalon).

The Sienta (might need to be renamed, so nobody confuses it with the Sienna) could be the perfect small MPV to take on Kia’s Soul. They’re both funky looking, and being a Toyota alone would probably allow it to outsell the Kia, while bringing more fun to the brand.

But to be fair, I actually wanted to tear up two of his articles like mad and literally make him run around naked while apologizing to people who just so happened to own a V6 Accord or a Mazda 3.
